“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
matthew 5:13-19

Summer Long
SALT PHOTOGRAPHER
Hi, friends! My name is Summer and I am the SALT photographer. Words I tend to resonate with are nurturing, encouraging, and compassionate. Those three words echo the style of photography I enjoy. When editing photos, I tend to focus on modern trends of emotion, details, and raw moments. I prefer photos to be less polished, more film-like, telling a story of the organic qualities of the moment they were taken. My style is always changing but tends to be on the more moody, life-like, documentary style.
Before photography, I became a Radiologic Technologist and a mother. These two things lead me to Jesus and Jesus then lead me to photography. In all things, I seek to follow Him. I want to help you tell your story, through pictures. I want to capture your personality, interactions, tendencies and everything in between.
Book with me to bring little salt to your light.
Much love, Summer

LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER
Hello! My name is Blair. I am a wife and a mother of two. I currently work as a nurse in an Emergency Department in Mount Vernon and am a photographer for Salt and Light Photography. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, embroidering, and reading!
Photography became a passion shortly after my son was born in 2019. I wanted to capture all his wrinkles, newborn scrunch, all of the tiniest but most important details, to freeze and always look back on. As he grew, I would capture these memories, not only falling in love with the still images of him, but also my newfound God-given gift of photography.
Using my gift is a way for me to honor God and His creation. With that as my motivation, I am always striving towards excellence and delivering the best experiences and photos that I can.
By using a light editing style, I can not only illuminate a subject or background, but I can also beautify, empower, and dramatize my subjects and the space around them. Soft lighting is a light source that is warm and harmonious, giving a “golden hour” type of effect.
I would love to get to know you!
Let’s add some light to your salt.
Xoxo, Blair
